I have an original 50's hot rod 32 five window coupe and when I open the trunk lid there is no trunk mat present just metal floor board ,was a rubber mat originally in place in the trunk if so where do I acquire one original or repo .

I believe that only rumble seat coupes had a mat.

I went to Restoration Specialties in PA and got some 1/8 thick pyramid rubber mat and cut it to fit the trunk and floor in a 32 roadster I built several years ago. I also just used it on the floor in the cab of my new 32 PU. I'm planning on using it in the trunk of the 32 5 window I'm doing now. It is sold by the ft and comes 47 inches wide. Part number MAT002WS. 814-467-9842

As deuce lover indicated, trunk model '32 coupes and roadsters originally had no mat in the rear compartment; only those with rumble seats had rubber mats.

I used a black exercise mat I bought at Walmart. It was 3/16 thick and held the shape of my Brookville roadster floor perfectly. It's a Hot Rod so I did not worry about what was original. I used it under the front carpet too, it's a great sound deadener as well.
