Question Goofy Horn Question

I am repainting the Sparton horn rear cover and going to replace the metal ID plate with a repo, can you guys tell me which is the correct direction it should face. The plate that was on there was totally blank only grey in color. Thanks.

A-Jay,

Not really a goofy question at all.
When standing at the left side of the car by the hood, looking forward at the horn, you would be able to read the name Sparton. Sparton stamped those tags with the month and year, such as 3 for March, the the full year, 1930, etc.

This is a photo of a tag from a new old stock Sparton horn.

Have it stamped with the correct month and year while it's still flat. I had mine engraved at a jeweler.

Thanks for the info and the pics of the plate with the date stamped. I would not have thought of that part and would have used those little rivets to mount the plate. The old plate only said 1930 without a month, with very small numbers. Thanks !
