Default Interesting French nameplate

I bought a 1935 roadster and in cleaning out the inside I found the pictured French nameplate. It has been attached but I don't find anywhere on this car that has holes that match. The car also has a very odd vin number on the frame! It has a normal 1935 vin but instead of having 18- it has 2226- in front of the number. Also instead of having the normal star it has like a waving flag for lack of a better term. Any ideas?

.

This IS some sort of a dealer tag, but you must remember that it was current roughly NINETY years ago. It is obviously The "Centrale FORD Agency" located in a huge building (indicated by the map I found on-line which seems to be subdivided into different entities). "52 - 56" appears on the map drawing as one of the divided areas, which could have easily been a garage of sorts. This is all located on a busy street called "Avenue du Prado" in Marseille, France. I found one picture of the entrance for what is now "54 Avenue du Prado ... remember that a lot has likely been modified in the architecture and structure during the past 80 - 90 years. It is likely still some sort of commercial entity today, possibly subdivided into office spaces as suggested by the speaker located on right wall of entrance.

Clearly from a dealer as Ford of France was located in Asnieres-sur-Seine, a suburb of Paris, at that time, about 800 km away.
