Default I have lost it.....

We have probably all done it. You take something apart for for repair or refurbishment and then set an important small part in a "safe" place so you will never lose it......never to be seen again!
I confess. I have misplaced a small part to my 50' F5 COE parking brake hand lever. Its the small, toothed pawl or cam at the bottom of the the hand lever that releases when the hand lever button is depressed to release the brake.
It may be part number 51-2786.
Anyone know of a source for one?
Thanks.

Every day. My shop is so cluttered with boxes of parts for my T5 and water pump kits plus boxes of expensive parts I have for projects I'm doing now and in the future plus lots of left overs. I'm scared to lay down a part for fear that it will disappear into the black hole that is my shop.

It’s as bad as dropping a small part, nut or bolt and having it go to “ part heaven”.

I lost the original seat belts for my (O/T) '67 Corvette the last time I moved.

To add insult to injury, do you have any idea of what those suckers cost?

I looked in my 1950 Ford truck parts book and is shows F4-F8 conv & COE.
The earlier Ford parts book shows Truck 1932-47 except 122" WB and COE.

Just be aware of Murphy's Law 278'th (or so) corollary. "You will find your missing part within moments of installing the replacement".

Unfortunately I don't have any spares to help you out. I've attached images of the pawl (51-2786) and the sector arm (51-2795) which engages with it so folks can see the part you need.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, I recently found parts I thought I got rid of years ago. Sad part is now I don't have anything they fit.

Well, I have been rescued of my CRS, the den of antiquity and black hole, inner sanctom of my shop by "Flatrod" up in Alaska.
He is generously sending me the brake pawl that I am in need of.
This transaction goes to show all that the "Barn" community has a large number of big hearted enthusiasts! You know who you are!
Thanks so much to everyone who responded to my plea for help.
Best regards to ALL!

That ain't nothin. Was under '49 last winter changing out the "new" tranny oil for some Sta-Lube API/GL-4 Multi-Purpose Gear Oil 85W90. Needed a wrench to check some bolts on the clutch linkage. Went to the tool chest and FORGOT WHY I WAS THERE...

Been there done that, getting older can be a bummer sometimes, over the hill is still better than under it.
