Do You Recognize this Starter
I removed this Starter from a Model A Doodlebug I bought years ago. It has a Model A Car Engine, 1929 by the Block Number, and a AA Truck Bell Housing with a 4 speed Transmission. International Dump Truck Rear End. I took out the Starter Today to change the Starter Switch. This is what I found in pictures below.
What Model is it from? Is it Rare, Can I remove the Innards, an Drill and Tap the 2 rear holes, so I can install the New Foot Switch? As You can see, the Starter Switch and Starter Case only have 3 holes in it. I would hate to Ruin it if it is something someone is looking for and can't fine. I operates just fine, but I will go through it and rebuild it as a spare to take to Florida. Last edited by Jazzjr; 09-10-2012 at 07:57 PM. |

Re: Do You Recognize this Starter
Thanks fellows for the Info, I found a Photo of it Model B. Still, should I keep it as is and sell or Trade it? Or being I know it works Great, can I adapt the Model A foot Switch, by drilling and Taping it for the 2 back Screws. I would hate to trade it, and get a Lemon in return. A Bird in the Hand is worth 2 in the Bush!!!!

Re: Do You Recognize this Starter
I would possibly sell it. There aren't that many B parts available and good working original could bring a pretty penny to the right guy.

Re: Do You Recognize this Starter
I am using one on my A with an A starter switch with only the holes it came with. I do not think that they are rare or particularly valuable to B folks (can't remember the last time I ran into a B guy looking for chassis parts!) and I expect mine will continue to work fine until I get around to redoing a correct Model A starter.
