Default Do You Recognize this Starter

I removed this Starter from a Model A Doodlebug I bought years ago. It has a Model A Car Engine, 1929 by the Block Number, and a AA Truck Bell Housing with a 4 speed Transmission. International Dump Truck Rear End. I took out the Starter Today to change the Starter Switch. This is what I found in pictures below.

What Model is it from? Is it Rare, Can I remove the Innards, an Drill and Tap the 2 rear holes, so I can install the New Foot Switch? As You can see, the Starter Switch and Starter Case only have 3 holes in it. I would hate to Ruin it if it is something someone is looking for and can't fine. I operates just fine, but I will go through it and rebuild it as a spare to take to Florida.

Thanks fellows for the Info, I found a Photo of it Model B. Still, should I keep it as is and sell or Trade it? Or being I know it works Great, can I adapt the Model A foot Switch, by drilling and Taping it for the 2 back Screws. I would hate to trade it, and get a Lemon in return. A Bird in the Hand is worth 2 in the Bush!!!!

I would possibly sell it. There aren't that many B parts available and good working original could bring a pretty penny to the right guy.

I would use it as is with a pull start cable, or sell it. If you drill it you have a less valuable modified part and stand the risk of drilling the field windings and ruining it altogether.

Model A starters aren't too expensive.

I agree with Tom. If you drill it you should remove the field windings or you risk drilling the field windings and you will need to deal with metal chips from the tap.

I am using one on my A with an A starter switch with only the holes it came with. I do not think that they are rare or particularly valuable to B folks (can't remember the last time I ran into a B guy looking for chassis parts!) and I expect mine will continue to work fine until I get around to redoing a correct Model A starter.
