Default Installation of Head Light Bar on 30-31 Model A

I installed my Head Light Bar on my Fenders today, 1930. Is it possible that I have it installed Wrong? Backwards! The cups are really pointing down, at i would say 30 Degree angle. When I went to Stowe I looked at 30s and 31s and thought they were pointed Forward. I have done a search, and come up with nothing here at the Barn.

The Bar comes within 1/2 inch from my Radiator Shell. On the ends the curvature is towards the rear from where it bolts to the fenders to mounting cup, and the round part of the Cups faces forward. The rear of the cups has the square part to the rear. I am using after market, Chrome Dietz Seal beam Headlights made to fit a Model A. When I insert a Light, it wont stand up Straight. A photo would be helpfully Thanks

why didnt you try turning it around.you only have two guesses. if i remember the cups do point down toward the ground a little. maybe the mounting bolts on your new headlights are in a different spot than the model stock ones

Your mounting is correct. cups face forward and square edge faces the rear.

Look under the "foot" that mounts on the fender. There should be a "R" or "L" cast into the part, letting one know which side goes where.

Looking at the headlamp pics it looks to me that when mounted on a Model A headlamp bar they would tilt down or forward about 15 degrees.

Thanks, Tom for reassuring me I installed it Correctly. No markings on the bar R or L Carl. I Stand corrected on the degrees Marco.

Anyways, today I fixed the problem. I used a Dermel Tool and Ground the slots on the Light Bucket that the mounting bolt rides in a 1/4 of an inch to the rear. It let the headlight bucket come Backward enough for the Light to come up Straight. When I go to have it inspected they will aim the lights. I thought for a while, I could only use the Lights to pick Night Crawlers.
