If you order the VP thermostat housing (adding a thermostat to your system will greatly improve the cooling, it took mine from a variable 140+ to a steady 165 and really helps my heater), be sure to also order the $5 adapter that stands the temperature gauge sensor off about 3/4". Otherwise your sensor may interfere with the thermostat. I didn't and had to call them back and have them send me the adapter/standoff separately (which they did very cheerfully, great folks to deal with).

1. You don't know that the OP's car, or any individual car, is non-pressurized. It may have been modified.
2. An oil pressure gauge is sort of like a check-engine light in the sense that it will show you whether the oil pump is working or not. They rarely fail, but some people want the peace of mind.
