62 Ford Convertible

This beautiful Galaxie convert was purchased by its second owner when it was 2-3 years old and it remains in the ownership of the same Hudson Valley family to this day. It was a young man's cruiser, then a family car, morphing through the years from “only car”, to “second car”, to “hobby car” and so forth. Optioned with P/S, P/B, automatic, and the upscale 352 engine, it was able to fill all those roles.

Through the years it has always been garaged and loved. The owner would scour swap meets and shows to update any trim that might have started to pit or look dull. About two years ago the decision was made to repaint it so all the trim and stainless was removed and it was turned over to a reputable local shop. A new top was installed, interior refurbished, and finally it went to a certified mechanic where it got a new carb, fresh vacuum lines, and wires. It got new tires and then a 4 mile trip back to the family garage to put the rest of the trim in place.
This was the the plan that was well under way when life changing events took place. There is some trim still to be installed but it looks to all be there, maybe with some duplicates. Side glass rubber needs to be replaced. Looking ahead, front end bushings would be a wise update. A wire brush and chassis paint or spray oil would make sense on any 60 year old car. There are no puddles on the floor but due diligence should be practiced as it goes back into daily use.
The family is including a parts car, 62 sedan with 352 engine, in the price. Buyer has the option of taking it as well or leaving it behind. This has been a painful emotional, decision for them but they're dedicated to finding every spare/duplicate part,etc, to ensure that the next owner enjoys this convertible to the fullest.
