Default Original BOYCO canister

Hello everyone,

I caught an original zinc galvanized BOYCO canister in the bay, which is intended for the running board on our roadster.
When cleaning with a machine brush, I discovered that the twist lock is made of brass.

Is that a peculiarity?

If so, does this roughly indicate the manufacturing period?

Thanks to all in advance for every hint!

I will have to check on mine when I get home but I think it was probably coated with tin to withstand water, oil, petrol. It probably would have been painted or had a decal on it.

You need the other two for a set they came in 3, oil, water and gas and were painted white for oil, blue for water and red for gas. I think they were for the earlier Model T days.

Guten Abend,
I have now worked up the container and will fix it with leather straps. I will leave the brass lid bare.

Yep I have one just like it-minus the decal. I am going to have one boiled out and then paint them. I have three different sizes: 1/2 gal (original with the remnants of red paint), a 1 gal., and a 2 gal. It would be. Eat to find some decals and stick them on.

Hi Mike,
I received the information that 'blue' is not oil but water, a little bit too late. And therefore I changed the lettering tonight. Template for the "Boyco" label is available in Australia https://www.ebay.de/itm/Vintage-Boyc...s-Model-T-Chev / 233161593260? Hash = item36498391ac: g: WzsAAOSwcxVayyxq
