Default 35 Pickup seat wood

Replacing the seat springs, covers and seat bottom wood on my 35 pickup. Have to buy or make the wood frame for the seat bottom. Was the wood frame for the seat bottom originally plywood with cutouts or boards made up as shown in the attached pictures.
Also did the wood bottom overhang or fit flush with the metal seat riser?.
Thank You

The wood fit flush to the metal base frame. The upholstery covered the wood edge for the bottom cushion. As for all the examples I have seen, plywood was used.

Hi Jakno,

Those are photos that I had taken of my '36 Ford Pickup when I purchased the new wood seat bottom from Lebaron Bonney (not made out of plywood) but made out of hardwood with all seat adjusting and hinge mounting holes pre-drilled.

You can go to their web-site and see it.
