Getting the 35 pickup road worthy and ready for a spring ride. Just finished up the installation of a tool box that will also be a place for the battery as I had install dual exhaust. Seems to fix nicely and not look out of place compare to other options. I know it's not authentic but at 76 neither am I.

What is the width outside or between fenders ???

Here are more photo's of the Battery & Tool box in my 35 PU. A little dust included and I still need to install a handle on the cover to open plus something to keep the box cover from hitting the back of the cab when fully opened. A good friend built this from scratch for me from a piece of stainless steel he had laying around. Anyone have thoughts about setting the box on rubber vs directly to the floor bed ?. I'm concerned about the rubber mat retaining moisture.

Looks great!! Re the mounting, instead of a rubber mat- possibly mount it on 'biscuits'/pads?

thanks. That will come in handy. I presently have a pre WWII (1938) foot locker in mine. Didn't want to drill any holes so I removed 4 of the small bolts holding the metal floor board in the bed and replaced them with eye bolts of same dimension and attached a small strap around the trunk on each end, with ratchet end, and it snugs everything down real nice. I had a black canvas cover made to fit the foot locker and placed it over the foot locker and then strapped it down. Looks nice and holds a lot of stuff.

Ever notice how a 1930's Ford pickup looks good in black

Any year from Model A thru 1940.

It's actually Dearborn blue. (I know Dearborn blue is probably lighter) Looks black unless it's in bright sun. Pretty sharp. Still needs to be buffed out from paint and assembly.

Not sure what 'Dearborn Blue' is.

Our truck is Washington Blue it's a lighter shade
