Default Friends of Don Higgs

I realized yesterday that many of Don's friends are not aware that he died last month. He was 80 years old. We've lost a good buddy and ardent Model A hobbyist.

Sadly, Don's wife, Patricia, died unexpectedly in late July. They had a long and loving marriage.

Many of you know Don from his participating in hill climb events around the country as well as, much to my admiration, driving his Model A speedster from Jacksonville, FL, to Fairbanks ... Alaska ... and return ... at age 73 ... solo. He also drove the Great Race in his speedster.

Don died of a massive heart attack while working in his shop, preparing to beat everyone's butt in the next hill climb.

Don's friendship, humor and dedication to his hobby will be missed.

I met Don at the Picacho Peak, AZ hill climb several years ago. Nice guy, and smarter than the average bear! Thanks for posting.
