Nice little box. It looks great. I would set it on some thin wood spacers to keep water from being trapped.

"Fab u lous " on the box ! Dearborn blue is very dark and in a garage can be taken for black very easily. Mine was that color and I do also have the little model. Nice to display

Bob is Dearborn Blue a close shade to Ford's Andalusite Blue they used on Model A's?? It is dark but almost a deep deep purple.

We all went down to Montreax, to the Lake Geneva shore-line (wait different Deep Purple I had a 1972 flashback)

Oh boy Jeff, your asking a guy who is color blind ? I do have a Ditzler repaint manual with color chips. I think these are lacquer but it says Andalusite Blue is #121 for 28,29,30 and Dearborn Blue is #1442 and is a 34-35 color. The chip samples in the book look soooo close, I'd almost bet it to be the same. Holding it to the light the dearborn appears to be a tad darker. I got a good match on mine by taking an original head light bucket (inside) to get a good match.

Regarding Dearborn Blue for the 35 PU. The pictures are what I believe are the original paint on my 35 and the PPG single stage Dearborn Blue we painted it with. I like the Dearborn Blue as you get two different colors, Black in the shade and Blue in the sunlight, with one paint job.

You gotta be a Maine Yankee to appreciate them savings !

Really looks nice Jakno, I notice the metal floor looks like you might have replaced it. I was looking at replacing mine with a new aftermarket one. Is yours by chance a replacement and if so what comments or advise can you share on that.

Thanks,

Pat

We actually took out what I believe was the original metal floor that was riveted and made repairs to it. Had to to replace the wood. took out the metal frame work under the wood so it could be sand blasted, repaired and painted well.

Thanks, my metal pan was not in as good of condition as I originally thought after removing it. Still debating on which way to go with it.

He had the pan sprayed with black line x body liner. One thought was to just put the wood back with the metal strips and spray body liner over that just on bed floor. The look would be very similar I believe. They can spray that at 1/16th thick. Probably would have been a ton less work.

Back when we did shows, I had a sign in the window, the "color of this truck is black and blue, if you touch it you will be too ! Got lots of laughs with that

I had a black canvas cover made to fit the foot locker and placed it over the foot locker and then strapped it down. Looks nice and holds a lot of stuff.
I also have an old footlocker in mine, someone told me it was military. Battleship gray inside and out, with a removable tray. I have not attached it yet but since my bed is not original I would not hesitate to bolt it down thru the inside. I'll post a pic next time I have all the spare restoration parts out of the bed.
