Default Carb question

Been awhile since I got out in the shop. Trying to get my 37 road worthy. Started it today. was running good, then gas started squirting out of the shaft of the accelerator pump. Carb was not rebuilt. Any ideas Thanks Bruce

Most likely stuck float or debris in the needle and seat.

Maybe a sticking float and level too high in the bowel and escapes via shaft.

A suddenly developed pinhole in the float would cause this.
