Default Early For seat part

Hello Ford Barn,
Does anyone know where I can get these right and left seat back parts?
When I bought my cat there was no front bench seat. Now I have to hunt down all these original parts. Please find attachment pic of part..
Thank you, Mike [email protected]

They were reproduced at one time so perhaps they may still be found. They were utilized through 1948 so your odds go up...

I have the exact piece but never could figure out how it attaches to the seat as it was in the truck when I got my car. Any pictures of how it does attaches?

Sorry, no great photos. However, the large hole goes around the pivot where the backrest attaches to the seat frame at the center. The curve of that piece lays upon the round "tube" within the seat (upholstery). The two small holes align with their respective holes in that same "tube" of the seat frame.

Thanks Kube for reply, I will try to figure it when this heat wave up here in Canada dies down. Now if I can put two and two together it should work.

The left side will only fit the left side, etc. With a pin, pierce through the upholstery and you'll locate the holes for the screws.
Originally, they were a sheet metal screw. Hopefully they are not broken off. I always drill and tap (thread) the holes and use a machine screw.

I have a 47 convertible. I have these two pieces unattached from the seat. I too am trying to figure out how they fit and their intended purpose.

See posts #5 and #7 for fitment.
These served as a way to trim off that area in a neat fashion.

Hello RG130,
Is that an after market piece of hardware? If it is can you tell me where you got it? I can't find them anywhere! Thanks, Mike

Was there only one piece like this that attached to the passenger side seat and non on the other side. Almost looks like there could of been two, one for each side.

I guess my 47 is missing one as I only found one in the trunk. I still can't figure out what they actually do.
