Good day all! I noticed this morning that my Zenith Carburetor has a crack in it.
The crack starts at the air intake where the air maze would go in towards the choke butterfly. It stops before the butterfly. My question is can this cause it to suck unnecessary air? I’m thinking the air comes in from their but wasn’t sure that would cause an issue! Most likely caused by years of someone over tightening the air maze. |

It should not effect performance. No extra air. If you are concerned about the crack progressing, keep your eyes open for a replacement to change out in the future.

If worried about an air leak, seal with JB-Weld.

Drill a small (1/16") hole at the end off the crack to keep it from going further. Also works for fender tears.
