Default MAFCA tour in Va this week

Mafca had a tour all over Va this past week. I assume it was a Civil War tour because it sounded like they went to all Civil War battle fields. There were a lot of good looking cars and a few hard to find ones! Nice to see them driven! Some of the states I saw were California, Wyoming, Kansas, Vermont, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, and Virginia. Most drove in and drove out! Check out the steering wheel on the roadster! Hopefully the pics will come up.

Did you go through Berryville, VA on US 340? My barber said he saw an old car convoy and I guessed it was from the meet.

I wasn't able to go on the tour but I live very close to the hotel that they started and ended at. I saw them rolling in Sunday afternoon and went over and talked with them. There was a MARC tour that they met up with 1 day so it could have been either one.

I was going to go on the tour but canceled. There is just too much stuff on my plate this summer.

I was hoping after I retired that I would have more time to do things like this. Somehow that hasn't happened for me!

It was the MAFCA 2025 National Tour. Yes Civil War Battlefields. The brown 2dr with CA to VA and back is MAFCA President Ed Tolman's. He and his grandson made the trip east. Another Pomona As member, Doug Diller flew back and will share driving duties west.

Thanks! I believe I talked with him the first Sunday they were here. It was raining and I didn't check out all the cars so I went back at the end of the week. That would be an interesting drive going cross country!

What do members think of tours that go to different hotels each day rather than having a home base?

It is more trouble unpacking one night then packing back up the next morning but you couldn't cover nearly as much if you stayed in the same hotel each night. It was a very good tour and we really enjoyed it.
