Sounds like a plugged vent in the gas cap. Try running with the cap loose. Chuck

I have had a similar problem recently, car would run fine, then die, like I had turned the fuel off.It would then start up fine and run perfectly. After checking everything possible, I took the glass filter bowl off and blew through it, and it was restricted, turned out it was the small rubber sleeve on the micro filter I had fitted within the bowl it was moving up and closing off the fuel flow. I took it off and no problem since.
