Bubba's 1 for 2 special
Just got a distributor back from Bubba on the 1 for 2 special. It looks great! It has been cleaned, rebuilt and machine tested (5000 rpm's), then re-adjusted. John

Re: Bubba's 1 for 2 special
Looks good John, I just sent Bubba a distributor for our '51 F-1. If it comes back looking that nice maybe I'll build a display case for it...

Re: Bubba's 1 for 2 special
Frank,
Well, sort of. I just rebuilt an 8ba and put in a 59ab cam, gears, 2 bolt cover, heads, pumps, truck bell (so it will bolt in to my 46) and will use this distributor with a crab cap. Hope it works. John |

Re: Bubba's 1 for 2 special
All , the 2 for 1 program is still on and has been going very well.
We just finished the Newport Hillclimb ( sucks a lot of energy out of a old guy ) and will be at the "hundret car pile up" this week end and my help is heading to Hershey. Will restart full production next week . hang in there and advise if your unit is a emergency need...... Last edited by BUBBAS IGNITION; 10-04-2011 at 06:12 PM. |

Re: Bubba's 1 for 2 special
Yep "dizzy" is what some of the hamb guys call distributors.
Came back from the Newport Hillclimb and found a new sign in my work area. Guess my office manager figures i should stay at the shop a little more ?? |

Re: Bubba's 1 for 2 special
Picked up an 8BA this weekend and like the idea of the electronic conversion. Gonna ship that and two crab's for that two for one. Nice pic's on the web site and from the posts it's worth the wait

Re: Bubba's 1 for 2 special
For thoes with 49-53 engines, you'd be better off with the Chevy conversion. Especially if you're running dual carbs.

Our chevrolet conversion uses the best of all worlds. The orginal GM (gasp) Delco distributor has proven over the years to be the most reliable and adjustable unit ever made. We tear down the delco and clean , polish and refinish all parts of the unit . Then we machine the housing to fit the ford/merc front cover with a new drive gear. A plate is added to the lower part to clamp down like the orginal flathead . The unit is then curved on a test machine for the flathead with either contact points $ 150 or electronic ignition $192. Each unit is shipped with a new black delco cap and rotor and if points are used (12 volt) a matching resistor is added as well. To date we have shipped over 500 units to many happy flathead dudes all over the world... |

Re: Bubba's 1 for 2 special
Hi Bubba,
I just sent you two "crabs" for the special, and a Chevy dist for one of my later engines. There is a note in the box asking about the price of the chevy points type conversion, which was just answered above. And how can you tell if your front cover (late one) is a Ford or Merc? Ralph P.S. Do the crabs taste better with your special Hot Sauce? |
