On my rumble conversion I found #10 clinch nuts instead of #12 D-nuts holding the hinges. I suspect this may have been done to align repo hinges to the original trunk lid, but it's been a while since I had the repo cushions out to see.

The inner skin is set up to be either and wondering if it was a trunk coupe would the factory have the nuts installed for a rumble or if it was going to be a trunk the inner skin didn't get the nuts attached?
Any ideas?
I think Steve Plucker had a comment in his blog that the D-nuts either may or may not be inserted in the the trunk lid.

I also have used the scotch tape method and other than a wrench I have also scotch taped a nut to my finger to get in tight places.
