Default 2 easy questions

I’m removing floor boards to do a spring cleaning. The upper board gas petal button is too big for the hole. Does that unscrew or do I have to remove it from below. #2 I have a roadster with no body protectors for the back window.i know I have to put something down for that but is there other precautions I need to do. I’m going to keep it down till next winter.

Even when you put the handles on the body, you should throw a small towel across the back to keep your window frame off the paint and the large seams on each side. They can rub through the paint.
