1929 Sport Coupe brace needed
I am rebuilding the 29 Sport Coupe top. I am in the midst of replacing the top wood. In the "How to Restore your Model A (Volume 5) , it shows in the upper left hand corner of page 68 a brace between the front roof rail and the roof rail over the door. Like many other things on my car these triangular shaped braces were missing . Prior to installing the Lebaron Bonney upholstery and top which came with the car, the upholstery instructions require that I cover these braces with material. Does anyone have these braces that they would be willing to sell or at least provide me pictures of so that I might construct some? The book says these were not on the 1928 model but I assume they should have been on my 1929 car. All the parts catalogs I have checked only show replacement braces for the 30-31 model years. These would not work on my car as it does does not have the mounting holes that were installed on the 30-31 models. The old upholstery on my car appeared complete although it needed replacement. The new panels from Lebaron Bonney seem to take the placement of these braces into consideration. Any help would be appreciated.
