Default '48 F4 pinion seal

I'm restoring a '48 F4 and I discovered the pinion seal on the rear axle is leaking. How do you change it? I wasn't planning on taking the rear end apart because it seams to work fine but I would like to change out this leaky seal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, do any of you have any dust caps for these big trucks they'd like to sell? The ones I have are beat up bad. I'm gonna try to straighten them but I'm not sure how successful I'll be.

thanks,
David

Take off the pinion nut, pull the yoke. Remove flange bolts and flange and the seal is right there. Don't know if the seal is a common type or special, probably common, measure the yoke for ID. most likely could use a speede-sleeve on the yoke.
Make a gasket, put 'er back together,,,,,

So the flange will slide right off the pinion shaft??? I didn't know if unbolting the flange would mess up the relationship between the pinion and ring gear.

Sorry for the novice questions.
