Default 40 Door/Quarter Upholstery Pleats

What is the correct vertical location for the pleats/ribs/whatever they're called on '40 Ford door/quarter panels? I've seen pictures with them between the door handle and window cranks, going through the door handle, going through the window cranks or anywhere in between. To add to this, it seems like they should line up (top and bottom) with the trim strips on a '40 Deluxe dash, but wouldn't that put them too high in relation to the window garnish moldings?

If it's of any help this is a LeBARON BONNEY Deluxe kit in a 40 standard tudor.
