Question High compression head ?

My friend has a 31 coupe new to him I was helping work on it he thinks it may have a high compression head the only marking on it is the number 10 on top near to the water inlet the numbers are rather big about 3/4 inch high . Does anyone know if this is a high compression head or a stock original ? I never saw one with the number 10 on it ?
Thanks guys b0b

Probably not. A compression check will show if it is anything over stock which is normally 60-65# PSI.

A compression test will answer the question.

I believe mine is a stock head, last compression test was 75# in all.

The Snyder high compression heads usually have two round casting marks on the top surface of the head. Each is about the diameter of a dime and they are a few inches apart. They can be located at different places depending on the lot.
