Default Electrical question

I have a small 12 volt dash light (2 cp). If I run 6 volts into into it, the bulb gets dimmer but doesn't die. Other than that does the longevity of the bulb also diminish?

Thanks

Tom

It'll probably illuminate forever. Bulbs don't like HIGHER voltages than they're rated for. DD

See if you can replace it with a 6 volt bulb. If not as stated
above it will last forever. G.M.
