Default Rarest remaining Passenger Car

Is the town car or the 31 160c deluxe blind-back the rarest Model A Passenger car remaining? I would think that the town car delivery would have to be one of the rarest commercial vehicles. But come to think of it, the could be several odd ball commercial vehicles that are very rare. In this I am discussing the number of known vehicles still in existence not actual production numbers.

Someone mentioned there were 17 steel back 1929 60-C Fordor sedans listed in both A clubs back when I posted photos of the rear section I brought home from Hershey.

The 160-C is not remotely "rare". Uncommon? Yes, in the overall scheme of things Model A. If you can't count them they aren't rare!

So the Steelback is fairly rare? I feel really lucky then. I guess I could be number 18.

RHD 1929 fabric fordor, not steel, including the lower body. Two made, both still in existance.

Marco, Unless I'm mistaken, I once read an article in the restorer or Model A news discussing there was less than 40 maybe 36 documented 160c left. The 160c was the slant windshield.

Tom, the stainless Model A came to my mind too late last night after I originally posted this. Seems I remember reading in a post one day last week that it is for sale.

Another car that came to mind last night was "the last Model A" made for HF2. Although this car was never made for sale to the public. I hijacked the picture from a TCD thread back last summer.

It has been on ebay a few times the past ten years or so. I thought they wanted a million, then 500k for it. It is in Tennessee or something, right?

I never knew there was a Stainless Steel Model A, there were 1936 V8's but I sure like to see a photo of the A.

Wow I like the HF2C "Woodie" I can see a fellow putting one of those together and there are no end to the things you could do on the lines of tailgate, wood slatted rear bed etc. Where is this car? I assume in a museum? Do you still have the link for more pictures?

Sorry but there is no more pictures on the thread. It is an interesting read though regardless.

Would love to see a picture of that. I can't get in my mind how that would look. Does it have rear corner windows?

I posted this the last time this question came up a couple of years ago.

I have a web page which has the data from the want ads in The Restorer and Model A News. If I look at the latest 20 years of data I get the following. Although there are only about 5000 cars listed it should give a reasonable look into the existing Model As.

Number of listings by Model
711 tudor
703 roadster
620 coupe
573 pickup
349 fordor
300 town sedan
295 phaeton
240 AA
216 sport coupe
176 cabriolet
136 victoria
102 special coupe
89 delivery
84 station wagon
61 A400
31 business coupe
29 mail truck
5 taxi

Listed by average price the numbers are:
$32,975 A400
$30,978 taxi
$24,207 phaeton
$22,542 cabriolet
$21,530 delivery
$21,149 station wagon
$20,419 roadster
$18,256 victoria
$15,375 mail truck
$14,743 business coupe
$14,220 sport coupe
$13,815 town sedan
$13,325 pickup
$12,626 coupe
$11,510 special coupe
$11,419 fordor
$10,663 tudor
$10,072 AA

Listed by number built you get. Note the special coupe is included with the coupes. I did not include production numbers for deliveries and mail trucks.
5072 A400
5117 taxi
11771 station wagon
42277 victoria
60676 cabriolet
76288 business coupe

So the prototype 1931 3 window coupe appears to be a slant windshield. Is that correct?
