It was 4 degrees on the way to work this morning. No snow, just cold.

If I ever retire before I die, I just might think of taking my bride back to her home state of Texas!

I love living in the north country and will never move,I can take the cold but not the hot weather that the south has.. My parents retired to florida , when they passed away the house was left to the family.. I told my sister to sell it. Winter doesn't last that long and it gives me something to look forward to driving my A's and appreciate them in the spring summer and fall..

I took my Cabriolet to Church yesterday morning. It was in the high forties when I went and in the low sixties when I came home. Perfect Model A weather. I've found that Central Virginia is about ten degrees too cold in the winter and ten degrees too hot in the summer, but that's better than freezing or roasting, and I can drive my Model A virtually all year long. That said, the roadster is waiting until it's a bit warmer (don't use the side curtains).

I must state, nice weather hear in South Carolina. My wife and I, took the "A" out yesterday (Sunday) and cursed around the country side area of our homestead. We put on about 75 or so miles. We both enjoy this area. We both grew up and lived in upstate, N.Y., both retired - lived in Florida for a lot of years and now our main residence is here in S.C. and we are now known as - half backs.

Took my roadster on a 110 mile trip on Sunday. We had 2 Model T s roadster along. Great trip through the Ozarks south of Springdale Arkansas. It was 70 degrees here. We had a blast.

Some of you guys need to toughen up. Here in North Dakota we just laugh at the cold and snow and drive our Model A's around. In the summer I drive my 25 T roadster pickup. Just happy to have a couple of old Fords to drive year around!

The frogs were singing here in Lincolnton,GA Back at my former home in WV they don't start until April. As for prices on homes here in the south? they can't be beat. Bought this for $225000.00 which includes 14 fenced acres a barn and two double car garages. Just about to finish a training round pen for the horses.

Not so good here in Danville, the gardner cuts the grass weekly. Rain waters it once or twice a year. This time it was watered almost daily through December, then nothing till the bit we just had. Just enough to find the roof is leaking, I'm ready for a board and care with five care garage. Do they have those down south? 70's later this week. You'd hate it here, I'm sure. I miss the snow in my boots and changing the paper inside to cover the holes and not wear out my socks. Good old days! 3 miles to school, uphill both ways. Snow to my waist and wind in the face no matter which way you were going.

That is similar to what I was planning when I bought my 28 acres in Shenandoah Co, Va. The trouble was my daughter and grandkids wanted to stay in NJ. Sooo, My wife wanted to stay close, so here we are on my 2 1/2 acres in Pa. It's not bad (No personal property tax) but it's not really great. (Montana would be great!) I still have the 28 acres but it's planted in corn. I intend to leave it to my kids.

Dusty, great looking place. Congratulations on getting it. You are correct about the price.

Just a note from a thing that happened in our family and this is just for the younger set. Our son and his family decided that NC was a great place to move to because of the price of things, houses, rent, etc. But after spending a year there and finding no job to support his family, they had to move back to Oregon to make a fair living. But it is a great place to live and I am not being critical of your area. The only point is for a person wanting to get a job there, make sure you know of one and get it before moving.

Thank you, I completely agree, I would not be a young person looking for a job here. There simply are no great paying jobs for the most part here, most people seem to work in retail or service. But as far weather goes and if you are retired it is pretty nice. Also I can not believe how polite most people are and their willingness to help.
