Nope, my metal washer looks different. It has a flat side and a lip side. The lip side is perfect size for the leather washer to fit in,

I'll go take a photo, be right back. BTW, the chips are filling in nicely.

It appears that you have a copper gas line. Copper work hardens with vibration and then cracks or breaks. You do not want a leaking or broken gas line near the exhaust manifold or tail pipe. Get the replacement steel line from one of the vendors and get the copper out of there. I had a copper oil gage line that broke and promptly pumped about a quart of oil out. Luckily no fire but a big mess

Had the same thing here once, made me fear copper lines for oil or gasoline! And you're right, what a mess!

Do not leave that copper line. Take it off and throw it as far as possible. I ended up with a fire on a 42 Willys Jeep years ago that causes a fire. I was very lucky that I didn't get hurt. Put a new steel line on. That copper line is very dangerous.

Get rid of the Airmaze. If you want to run a filter get the one that has the KN that fits above the carb. Running a filter below can also cause a fire. Better to be safe.

Update:
Air Maze was removed.
The following items are now on order:
Gas Sediment bulb
Steel fuel line
Choke Rod grommets
Choke rod set
Heater Valve firewall door

Thanks for everyone's advice and concern. At 94, I don't need any additional help meeting the Grim Reaper so I don't plan on even turning Sarah's key until the fuel line has been changed out.

I plan on caressing Sarah with a new two blade balanced aluminum fan.
When that is being replaced I might do the whole cooling system, leakless water pump and all it's frills.

New terminal box and harness.

After my last divorce, I thought spending money on a woman was over..............and then along came Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better carry a fire extinguisher with you if that airmaze fills with gas and the exhaust pipe sets it off, also that heavy rivited 4 blade fan will wipe out that pump bearing in short time.

forever4,air filters on A's are all aftermarket,if the small hole in airhorn can't drain the gas fast enough if the carb decides to flood you might wind up with a big problem when the airmaze gets saturated with gas,why take a chance, air filter is not necessary anyhow, mostly just restricts the airflow to carb.I use to run that 4 blade fan years ago, weigh it compared to stock A fan and you will understand why the pump bearings start to wear prematurely.

I don't like any of the air filters or the four blade fans. The filters cause rich operation and the ones with paper elements are a dangerous fire hazard. I had problems with the four blade fans slinging blades plus they are a pain to remove or replace. They may cause a problem with the front pump bearing. The repro front front pump bearings that some sell are pretty crappy and have too much tolerance. I use the modern front pump bearing and sleeve and it also removes end play in the shaft. Just a thought .

Well, just back from a spin with Sarah. Seems it all still works. I must have followed directions correctly.

Next is to tackle the exhaust whistle. The fan will wait till spring.

I noticed I had no run off of coolant this time but did have some steam coming from the back coil area. Anything to look at?

The after shot....oh, the Maze filter is gone also and I replaced the choke assembly too
, no more gas drip.
