[QUOTE=lookin-backtexas;640473]Tom, glad you enjoyed the visit - actually those of us down south refer to it as the "War Between the States".

Here in the deep South we refer to it as the: War of Northern Aggression!

Bob,
Trying not to start another war here - just sell some raffle tickets on an engine! Those of us know over time who really won . . . the sunbelt or the rust belt? There's nothing quite like driving your Model A in February or March with the windows rolled down.

Now if you really want to see a war raging - read the thread about whitewalls vs. blackwalls!

If you aren't driving your antique car frequently, you might as well be collecting clocks!!!

It's the long winters that make us northerners so mean!

We had more snow again this morning.

Tom:
You made me laugh - not just at the comment about being so mean but still having snow in May. As I told the guys in the home office when I worked for a company headquartered in Milwaukee, "Don't you guys know Milwaukee is the reason God created the U-Haul trailer?"

We had winter . . . let me see, I think it was the second week of January. No, wait, I think it was the first two days of the second week in January.

Let's hope someone wins and takes you up on your offer to drive down for the engine! Then I could meet you in person and show you some southern horse-p-tality to get rid of that meanness!

It got to 72* today and I worked up a sweat digging a 15" by 4 foot deep hole for the mailbox. I wanted to get the Model A out for the first time this year, but I ran out of daylight.

How much gas are we talking about Tom? Anchorage is a pretty far piece from Dallas.

My contribution is on it's way!

Carl:
Tom would have a little more driving to do once he got to Dallas - the convention is being held in Round Rock, Texas (Austin suburb) and it's 200 miles from Dallas to Austin. Looking forward to receiving your entry . . . you'll be our first Alaskan entry. As of right now, we've gotten entries from 20 different states and three foreign countries. We've had entries from Texas, Montana, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Connecticut, Tennessee, Kentucky, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois, Mississippi, Wisconsin, California, South Carolina, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Alaska, Canada, Mexico and believe it or not, New Zealand!

Hey, someone's gotta win it and it might as well be you - you can't win unless you enter!

Lightbulb Regarding shipping

Regarding Shipping ....

I am scheduled to drop off in Katy, Texas in a couple weeks.

I just might be in the area around June 8th - it depends
on connecting loads ....

That said ....

Subject to availability

I will offer free shipping to the lucky winner
depending on my schedule and route availability ....

Jim

Bless you Jim - that's very generous of you! I must warn you, we have entries from Alaska, Canada and New Zealand so I assume there are limitations!

Who knows, the winner might actually be at the convention and haul it home himself; otherwise, you might have some takers. I will call the winner the night of the drawing to notify him as well as post the winner's name and home town on this forum when the ticket is drawn. If it's someone from out of state, I'll bet someone might take you up on your offer.

Okay all you Johnny Come Latelies and last minute procrastinators - you still have three weeks before the drawing and now you have an offer of possible free delivery from Jim . . . what more do you need? It's time to send in your entry!!!

What more could you ask for? The possibility of winning a $5,000 freshly rebuilt inserted Model A engine delivered to your door for $5.00 if you are the lucky winner! It would definitely be Christmas in June for some lucky guy!

Thanks,
Fred
