Old trouble light or old light trouble
I pick up this old trouble light at a yard sale for a buck (guy said switch was broken), the switch is fine, but there was no bulb, that's why it (the switch) felt broken. The black parts are wood, the cloth covered wires need to be replaced, the body is plated brass and has a glass lens, the adapter on the end replaces a single filament bulb in a tail or a dash light socket. The question I have is what is the number for a 6v, 2 filament bulb with the locator pins directly across from each other and where would I be able to find one, if there is such a thing? I filed the upper pin off an old 12v bulb to see if that was an option but the switch pushes the bulb out of place. The 2 pins in the last photo turn and make contact with the nubs (for lack of a better word) on the base of the bulb one for ground one for the hot. Thanks for any information, Clyde

You'll probably also need a lamp with a G shape bulb (globe shape) to fit under the lens. A number 64 or 82 lamp will probably fit the bill. Both are 6V rated automotive lamps. The 82 will probably be easier to find. |

Try donsbulbs on the internet. He has a listing of all bulb types and the dimensions, base type, voltage etc.
