Re: E-Z Steer
Yep! I installed the unit in a 31 Slant Windshield 4 dr a couple of weeks ago. It was an easy installation and made the steering like power stering. Kinda expensive i thought at first, but after driving the car for a few days it is well worth it. Besides i aint geeting no younger nor no stronger.

Does it still have that last inch or so of steering wheel free play that you just can't seem to adjust out of the original steering gears? Do you notice any difference in "driftiness" going down the road? Steve |

Re: E-Z Steer
There is still that very small amount of free play -1/2" to 1" maybe. I havent gotten the car on the hiway yet - just aroound town and the main street whi8ch is 1/4 mile long but there is no drifting. Very stable.

Re: E-Z Steer
Guys, I hate to plead ignorance (again), but is the EZ Steer system the same as the use of Teflon seats of the drag link and tie rods? Also addressing steering, do any of the suppliers have the shortened Pitman arm in stock? All the biggies are on BO with weeks until delivery. Thanks, Pete

Re: E-Z Steer
I believe 'easy steer' is a converted F100 box or something similar and the prices I've seen are in the $700-800 range..

Re: E-Z Steer
From what I have seen in catalogues etc. , the EZ Steer system is just replacing the zinc coated cups in the drag link and tie rod ends with the teflon cups. I have done this and it does make the steering easier. I like them.

Re: E-Z Steer
I would assume the Teflon seats are a pretty high wear item compared to the OE setup since they always sell replacements when they wear out.

Re: E-Z Steer
Dick, the Easy-Steer is a brand new steering box, and is not just the Teflon cups. After doing my front end 10 years ago, I found the the biggest improvement was making sure all the steering balls are round, and then install the Teflon seats. I took all of the free play out of the box, and have no problems or concerns with my steering. I did purchase a shortened pitman arm, but am too busy driving around, to take the time to change it! Maybe I'll get to it soon if this rain keeps up!

Re: E-Z Steer
Any hints where the shortened may be in stock. It seems that Snyders, Mac's etc. all get theirs from the same mfg.
