Default 1929 Business Coupe

I have seen a few 1929 Business Coupes in person, all with the oval windows. I have seen several pictures of the Business Coupe without the oval windows. So here is my question, did all of the 1929 Business Coupes with or without the windows use the same metal curved top brackets that allowed for the short center bow, or were they only used on the ones that had the oval windows? Thanks, also if anyone has those brackets for sale or could send me a detailed drawings/pictures with measurements that would be awsome.

The 1928 business coupes and and those built thru Feb of 1929 all came with the window-less upper quarter. These cars all had a long bow that ran down to a triangular bracket mounted just behind the door frame. This was very much like the Sport Coupes of both years, as none of them had the oval window either. So only the cars with the oval window had the curved bracket and the short bow.

Ours is a Feb 1929 car, so I can't help on the bracket parts or pics, sorry.

One on eBay has the wrong oval windows, they are too small.

They would not be hard to make. I'm sure you could get a blueprint from the Ford Archives. Perphaps someone could supply you a pattern. Mine are in a car so I can't give you exact dimensions.

Yes I saw that but these were the actual brackets to support the short bow, and top. They looked very well made.

Yes Ray it does, is the bracket that the wood fits into welded or bolted to the curved metal part?

I'm not sure which areas you're referring to. But I'll check it all out tomorrow and let you know what I can determine.

The bracket that the upper rear bow fits into is riveted to the curved bracket
