Default Rumble Lid and Hinge installation 68C

Good morning all!
Does anybody here know of a treatise on rumble lid assembly? I need some guidance. I have installed my (probably) original hinges onto my reproduction (new) rumble lid and am struggling with getting the hinge install. The lid fits the body opening but the hinges are about an inch and a half away from the brackets.
This is a 68C so all things are attached to a wooden subframe and attachment space is an issue.
I need to tap into some experience on the install for this one. Thanks in advance.

This link has a pretty good run down on hinges and deck lids that may answer your questions. It seems the repro hinges don't work well due to shrinkage of the product during casting and the repro deck lids are made to fit the repro hinges and not the originals.

rotorwrench has it right...
>> original deck lid... use original hinges.
>>repro deck lid... use repro hinges.

Often you have to tweak the hinges (bend) in or out to align well
But repo hinges will break if you stress them

keep in mind too, all of the Model A Cabriolet`s rumble and panels are the same as the 29 coupes except the lid itself. so original hinges are easy to come by. hopefully you have the correct rumble hinge brackets and as Bill said you can tweak the original hinges.

Thank you for the information. I suspected the original vs repo nature of the parts was a factor. Great pictures. Thanks again.

If it isn't hot enough to bake cookies in the garage this weekend, I'll investigate using this info.
