I do pretty much the same when they ask me about my Model T.

I've often had people call mine a T model . I mostly don't try and explain the difference because they still wouldn't understand the difference any way .

Ford Model A would refer to the early Twentieth Century cars, the first Model A.

My experience with talking to people outside of collector car circles is they have no idea what a "Model A" or "Ford Model A" is. I interpret their blank stares as a complete lack of understanding. I have to pull out my iPhone and show them a picture of the car. After seeing the picture, they recognize it. When I explain that the cars were built just prior to and the during the Great Depression, they understand the historical context.

I had an alternator on the coupe when I used it for a dailey driver . Some with good manners would say if I had one I would want it to have a generator, as if I cared .
