also could paint the assembly screw body color green to "hide" it a bit. :P

i wonder if you could fab up step plates on the fenders out of a soda can or something.

ive been into plastic/metal models a very long time haha. still very cool! im working on a plastic model of my AA (GAZ-AA model). kinda put a hold off on it for now but once snow starts flyin ill be inside more.

WELL, I spent 15 GRUELING minutes, re-fitting the dang skinny tire onto my Model T Towtruck, after it rolled off the shelf, scared the CRAP out of me, "maybe" its' E-BRAKE failed??---How do I get into the Model T forum?

Painting the gas cap and spark plugs was hard enough. I'll admit my hand is not steady enough to do the cowl band altho I was looking closely at the door handles...

Yes the screws are on the list, there is one on the fire wall too. I want to duplicate my license plate also.

I just missed the Hubley Races at my first club picnic. (actually missed the picnic due to medical issues).

I would like to put together a Hubley coupe. Where did you get your kit? I see them on ebay, but wonder if there are any places in Southern California that sell them. Your's looks great! I hope I can do as well if I find one.

They stopped making them years ago. I got mine on Ebay. They range from about $20 to over $100. I would not pay more than $30 for a complete unassembled Hubley. The older ones are the best IMHO.

Not Model A, but I once did a Jaguar-XKE Coupe, with an ALLISON-V-12 "CRATE" MOTOR & Dual Drag Racing SLICKS.
Making BALSA wood models was also a big deal, waaaaay back then.

Wonderful model!

There is a product modelers use to simulate chrome which is essentially a rub on foil. Rub it in place, then trim with a very sharp exacto blade. Used to be called RealMetal foil. That could solve your cowl band issue.

I'm a balsa stick and tissue guy with the occasional plastic thrown in. I wonder how many antique car guys are modelers as well?

Very nice. I used to build these when I was in high school. I would fill the assembly screws will liquid metal filler. I even cut off the front bumper on one and cut two metal strips to make the double bars of the bumper.

I got mine off of ebay but after the fact I heard about Ralph, the Hubley Man at 562-863-0302.

Thanks I'll check that out. I think I'll wait awhile until the paint is fully cured then try it. I also have a fine point silver paint Sharpie.

We had Hubley races at the recent New England meet. It was a big hit with participants as well as spectators. Both kids and adults participated.

Years ago, when I made the Hubley Model A's I used my Dremel tool with polishing discs and toothpaste to shine-up the radiator shell and other metal parts.
