Weber Carburetor Help

I need help. I know very little about carbs except how to read instructions and install them. My wife and children gave me a new Weber carb (manual choke) with intake manifold for Christmas. Instructions received with the carb stated that it was pre-adjusted for the Model A Ford. I started the car once a week since then and the carb ran smooth and strong. Today, I started it and it idles smooth; however, it will not run above an idle. The engine simply cuts off when I attempt to speed it up.

I adjusted the idle speed when I installed the carb back in December but have not adjusted any other screw on the carb. I have cleaned and set the points, changed the condenser and changed the coil. I checked the gas flow to the carb and it flows without restriction. I took the filter off the car and the gas drips/dribbles into the carb. Is the gas supposed to atomize in the throat?

What else can I check and how?

I would check the spark plugs and see if there are fouled? I've had a weber for over 25 years and initially set the air fuel mixture for brownish spark plug color.

I installed a Weber on an MG, ran great. The next time it wouldn't rev up or take a load.
It seemed like a carb. problem, but it was a failed condenser.

never had to work on mine . but I did change to the "E" plugs and no fumes at idle
