Oh boy, how do I do a short answer? Here goes. There were three wheel companies, and two rim companies. Budd, Kelsey Hayes, and Motor Wheel Corporation produced the wheels using rims sourced from either (or both) Firestone Steel Products Company or Goodyear. Budd and Motor Wheel products will have a five digit number stamped into the wheel somewhere. Generally concave inner face for Budd, or convex outer face for Motor Wheel. Kelsey Hayes have nothing/nada/zip. The K-H variety then have to be identified by measured offset and backspacing. I have a very complete library of old wheel and rim references and can generally look up the numbers and connect them to Ford numbers.

There will be differences in wheel offset and backspacing that naturally interplay with the rim widths when trying to build a set that are an exact or near match. I can on most look up the numbers that you find and give the comparative specs. I have found some wheels where the numbers are clearly stamped but are nowhere catalogued, but it’s rare. So let me know what you find. Stu

Folks,
I think Redpond with the 32 truck is looking for some rims. Please check with him. He is in Bowling green KY.

Chris

I have a small pile of 1935-1937 1 1/2 ton truck wheels. Most have some rust but you are welcome to visit and pick through to see if you can put together a set for your truck. I live just south of Washington, DC in Northern Virginia.
Send me a PM if you are interested.

I restored a 1947 COE about 12 years ago, and my wheels were stamped Firestone on the inside.
