Tool ID
It was raining today so I poked around the old milkhouse and found two
pails of tools. One had 40 lbs. of Walden wrenches and the other was a mish-mash which contained a few oddities. The 1st photo shows 4 I can't identify. The 2nd shows two Ford script adjustables and one is cast Buffalo. There are letters or numbers ahead of it but that part of the recess is corroded or was poorly forged. What year(s) was the Buffalo one used ?? The 3rd & 4th is a riveting tool. Can it be used for brake shoe rivets ??? Thanks for any input. |

Re: Tool ID
It could be used to rivet a variety of rivets it just needs the correct dies.

Re: Tool ID
The top tool in the first picture says "conn rod nut". So I'm guessing it may be a wrench to tighten/loosen connecting rod nuts. Why you would need such a wrench I'll leave to others.

Re: Tool ID
To take up the slack in the connecting rods in a babbitted engine while laying on your back under such cars as a Model T!

Re: Tool ID
I'll tell 'ya what. I need that last riveting tool to put the hood bumpers on my '35 hood and fender. It's in a place where hammering is not going to work. That little beauty looks like just the ticket given the right dies and soft enough rivets!

Ford used adjustable wrenches in their tool kits for years so only a tool avid collector would have info for the different contractors that made all that stuff over the 30 to 40 years or so that Ford supplied tool kits. |
