Default '40 coupe trunk lock cylinder

How do you get the lock cylinder out of a '40 coupe trunk handle ? I have the handle off. They key works most of the time, but I am sure the tumblers are worn out. Thank you Fordbarners.

If I remember correctly, you turn the key about 1/4 of a turn, then
take a small piece of wire, and push down on the small pin on the
front/top of the lock assembly, then pull out the lock cylinder.

Lanny is correct. You need the key in the lock to turn it so you can release it by pressing in the hole with something the will fit through it. I usually use a piece of gas or TIG welding rod small enough to fit.

A paper clip will work, too for removing lock.
