Default Fitting '36 Car Hood......Help!!

Hi Guys-
I'm in the process of fitting up the hood on my '36 car project, and it seems to have a very large gap all along between the bottom edge of the hood sides and the fender. I have the proper lacing installed on the cowl and the grill, so the hood top is setting right. What should the gap be along the edges?
I also posted this on the HAMB site as well.
Thanks guys for any help you can give me on this.

cbillelder- Here is how mine looks, up to 1/2" gap in places. Seems ok compared to others I have seen.

The gap at the upper front of the hood against the hood ornament is usually the toughest area to deal with.
