40 flower car casket carrier
Can't say I've seen one of these before. I think they are delusional to ask $175k however on ebay. They claim it is coach built.

Re: 40 flower car casket carrier
Looks home made to me. Do they have proof it was made by a coach builder and not in some bodyshop?

Re: 40 flower car casket carrier
Flower cars were relatively common in the fifties, but I've never seen a Ford. Usually Cadillacs, but occasionally Buicks or Lincolns.

This particular car has been in the Midwest its entire life. I had first witnessed this vehicle in 1972 at a local show. It is to this day as I'd seen it back then. I recall it has about 22,000 original miles. That IS accurate. The (very nice) gentleman that owns this car had offered it to me about two years ago for $75k. While it has a certain "cool factor" it is in my opinion not "cool" enough to warrant $75k. If it were made in house by Ford, I'd be much more interested but alas, it was not. I think, but do not know for certain, that this car is simply on consignment. If anyone is so interested to look at other ads posted by this company, you'll soon observe they are very "creative" in their verbiage and at the same time, often not very accurate as to what a vehicle even is. Because of these two "quirks", I find their ads are often quite humorous .

Re: 40 flower car casket carrier
The antique auto "Dealers" do have to get creative. They want as high a margin on there stuff as they can get. I guess I can't blame them but I would rather buy a car from a fellow enthusiast owner and not a flashy dealer. The "dealers" target is generally not the restorer types but the folks that want a restored car that don't have the time or interest in auto restoration. You have to get creative to attract a buyer that doesn't necessarily have a knowledge of old cars or how much they are worth.
