I put a new solid state cut-out on my `35 several years ago. End of problems. Not sure where I bought it now, but seems like an individual makes them.

I bought two 35-36 windshield regulators recently from Bob Drake. First one was $75.00. The second one was on sale at $60-65.00. They look well made, fit as good as originals, and work well. Only time will determine how long they last. I suspect they are made in China. Most of the original used ones you find have worn/stripped gears. Would cost more than a new repro to have an original rebuilt. I would be willing to bet that MAC's is sourcing theirs from Drake.

I would bet you are correct. During a tour of MAC'S last summer, I obsrved many boxes marked with Drake's logo that were sitting in the MAC'S incomming area.
