This set was on a restored 36 I purchased. They were mounted but I don't believe they were ever on the road. The owner died in 2005 and the car sat in the garage until I bought it this spring. Other than that I know nothing else about them. They are in beautiful condition. If there are any imperfections you will have to stick your nose on the cap to see it.
