Default Head Gasket

Where can I find the BEST brand head gasket for a 59AB on the east coast?

Before you install new head gaskets, have a good machine shop check the heads and resurface as necessary. For a 59A with 3-3/16 bore, we prefer the copper faced gaskets. They are not much more expensive than ordinary type, but tend to seal better. We get ours from C&G. Ask for 59A-6051-C. $45/each.

Now that you have the heads off, you could have the heads milled to have.050" piston to head clearance. This would help fuel econmy and improve drivaebilly.

Fel-Pro still makes the best gaskets for the flatheads. You can purchase them from most auto supply stores or from Rock Auto.

I'm a big fan of copper-faced gaskets for L-head motors. Treat them with some spray Kopr-Kote (or equivalent), check torque a time or two, and be happy!

Sorry, don't know where to get them for Ford V8 motors yet.
