Default 37 Tudor to 40 Standard Tudor Body mount differences??

Hi All,

I bought a 1937 Ford Touring Sedan on a Total Cost Involved chassis a number of years ago. I have been attempting to get through the bodywork but will still have a few years in it to get it as good as I would like before paint.
I'm considering purchasing a 1940 Standard Tudor to put the body straight on my existing TCI chassis and drive it like it is. Will I encounter any problems attempting to fit the 40 standard tudor body to the TCI chassis? Are the floor mounting positions the same from 35-40 ford?

There are 35-40 Ford frame diagrams online.

If you go to Wescott's catalog, they have the pictures of the frames for those years showing all the mounting positions. I think that they are all basically the same frames with minor exceptions. I could be wrong, but I think you should look at the detailed pictures in the back of Wescott's catalog. It is very detailed.

The 40 body will fit as the frames are basically the same. You will have a radiator for sale as that radiator will not work in the '40. Also check on the engine setback in the new frame. You may have to modify the 40 firewall.

The radiator may give you more problems than the mounting holes for the body. Look closely at the shape of the radiators.

The radiator mounts on the frame are different (as is the radiator). The differences in the x-member don't matter as that is not stock.

Check the frame carefully for square, twist, and accuracy. Total Cost Involved Engineering makes a great product, however most frames which we have fit bodies to have required some massaging for perfect fit.
