Thumbs up Shock Therapy

My 1938 Standard Coupe still has it's original knee action shocks on board.
They no longer hold oil and also have a hard time holding the road and working as should. I need to do something to make the car ride and handle safely.
This car is a driver and not a show car but is completely original except it has juice brakes added. Will updating the original shocks to tube type devalue the car in any way?
Bob Drake makes a bolt on front shock kit and a rear shock and anti-sway bar kit for original rear ends for less than what it would cost to repair the knee action type shocks. Has anyone converted their cars to these kits that modernizes the handling and ride comfort they claim? Thanks

I installed front tube shocks on my '41 using the stock shock mounting holes as were on the '48's. After a time I noticed the frame developed cracks around the mounting holes. I welded a plate to the frame and went back to stock shocks. I don't believe the frame was designed for the in/out flex caused by the tube shock mounts. The front shocks may have been too stiff. That's why I like stock shocks which can be adjusted.
