Default 38 pickup, panel, dash emblem question. Compass?

On my 38 panel dash just above the window crank knob I have 2 small holes, I left them as I figured they were for a compass or maybe a hula girl or something. So now I have these 2 holes and still no compass or hula girl or pen holder. Can anyone say for sure what went there? Does anyone know where I can find a nice chrome compass or Hula girl for there? Thanks

Could have been for one of those aftermarket accessory fans (either vacuum powered or electric), or possibly for one of those prism traffic light finder thingamabobs that were popular back in the day. All I can tell you for sure (having owned a '38 pickup since shortly after the beginning of time) is that some previous owner drilled those holes. King Henry V8 didn't put them there.
