Default '55/'56 See Clear bag mount

Not the most interesting question, but I would like feedback from someone with a '55/'56 Fairlane on where to mount the bracket for the See Clear bag. The best would be a photo of the bracket, with the bag off.

When I got my '55 all the windshield washer components under the hood were missing. On the fender apron, there aren't even any holes where the bracket would have been. I've bought all the kit to put it back together, and need to figure out what is the correct place to mount the bracket which holds the See Clear bag.

I've looked at several photos, and it appears it is always under the part of the fender where there is a slightly rounded cut-out. However in the photos the bag is always in place so I can't see how it mounts. "Get out of the way bag!". On my car, this part of the fender apron is open, and the fresh air vent runs through there. So I can't figure out on the other cars how this mounts.

Also a grievance about parts suppliers, I bought a hose kit from a reputed supplier, there are 2 different hose diameters, and unfortunately they cut the narrow hose (to the spray head) a foot too short, and the wide hose (to the pump) a foot too long. Really frustrating as it gives me no room to work with .

There is a pressed steel bracket with hooks on it that screws onto the drivers side fresh air vent. You'll see two little screw holes on the the vent flap section.
I can photo it for you today if you need.

The bracket mounts on the drivers side round Magic-Aire duct just above the inner wheel well. If you look at it, you should see two little holes for the sheet metal screws matching the hole pattern on the bracket.
The bracket and "See-Clear bag can be purchased from most rest parts suppliers.

Here's the bracket in situ.

Thanks guys! Perfect, and much appreciated!

I took the bracket and checked it out "eureka" the flashlight shined through the two holes highlighting 2 perfectly spaced dimples (screw guides) on the Magic air duct.

Rick thanks for the photo, it clarifies the source of my problem. The bracket Mac's sent me is only 1/2" deep versus the one you have which is about 1-1/2" deep. So I rigged up a spacer between it and the duct so it now clears the fender apron.

Many thanks for the help!

Rick, here's a photo of how I ended up setting up my bracket to get it to work. It's frustrating when these places sell the wrong parts . Thanks again for the help.

Glad we could all help.
I thought I had lost the bracket as I hadn't seen it for a couple of years, as I stripped my car preparatory to restoring it 4 years or so ago.
I found it in the bottom of the trunk that I had put all my POR'd pieces into for safekeeping. It was that safe that I forgot where I put it.
