Default What front Hydraulic Brake Hose to use.

The last car I built with early Ford hydraulics, required a longer front hose than a 1940 hose. I am assuming that because of the narrower frame,I will again need a longer hose. Anyone have any part numbers?

Find an old Wagner book at a parts store, they list hoses by measurement, end configuration, and pictures. Now all you have to do is find a real parts store that has not thrown out the paper books.

Brake hoses for front: BH188215, SBH1001 (V8 hose is too short)
Brake hose for radius rods to frame: BH111139/38210

Thanks for the #s,I tried the SBH1001,and it was the wrong thread at the wheel cylinder. However, the parts counter person may have gotten the cross reference # wrong. One of these #s should work. I knew the V8 hose would not work, and the hose I used on my last car was too long for a stock A,(last car had a suicide axle).

I went back to Car Quest, today to exchange the hoses they sold me. All of the numbers, MrTexas gave me,cross referenced to the same part, they already sold me. I think it is a computer mistake,at Car Quest. I went to Auto Value, and ordered the Wagoner #4497. Tomorrow I will take the wheel cylinder with me,before I buy.

Well the problem I was having with the hoses, turns out to be my fault. I was trying to fit them to the rear wheel cylinders,DUH,I know better than that. I was in a hurry, and did not take the cylinder completely out of the plastic bag. All those part #s are good numbers, thanks for the help. Still looking for a machinist in the Brighton Michigan area,to cut down my drums, and rear backing plates.
